All the dog owners from Northern Michigan must be aware that the deadly virus causing illness to the dogs has now been discovered

The virus has been identified as parvovirus, which is highly contagious and often deadly.

It is often found in unvaccinated puppies with acute gastrointestinal illness.

A dog may show bloody diarrhea and poop, vomiting, and lack of energy as the symptoms of this illness.

Vaccination is essential to keep the dog safe because the virus spread from dog to dog, says Dr. Hilary Jones.

Make sure that your dog is given DHPP, which covers distemper, parvo, parainfluenza and adenovirus.

Dr. Jones suggests that Puppies should be given the three shots of vaccine at 8, 12 and 16 week.

Adult dogs should be provided with the dose of DHPP every one to three years.

Don't let your dog drink the water from the unclean sources.

Make sure your dog is fully vaccinated before allowing him to interact with the other dogs.
